HELLO AND WELCOME TO OUR SITE

Have you ever wondered how long the Romans were in England or if Dick Whittington was a real person; or how you get to be a Lord Mayor of London; and what is their connection to the Livery Companies of the City of London? Where those sentenced to death met their maker at the end of a bit of old rope?  Or where William Wallace was executed?  Come with us on a guided walk through the streets of the City of London and see a poignant remembrance of ordinary peoples' sacrifice for their fellow men, and the magnificient memorial to the many Merchant Seamen who died in major wars all over the world, from the Arctic to the Falklands; then please contact us - we look forward to meeting you and taking you on a walk through a City where history is written in the streets.  Thank you.

There are few Cities on earth which combine the old and new in such a way, to bring a fascinating mix of history, architecture and culture.

Our mission is to inform, educate, entertain and leave you wanting more.

The City of London is a geographically small city within Greater London and is the historic core of London. The City’s boundaries have stayed almost the same since Medieval times.

It is often referred to as the City or the Square Mile, covering almost one square mile (2.6 km²) in area. The United Kingdom's financial services industry is principally based here.

In the medieval period the City was London, and distinct from the nearby but separate settlement of Westminster, which became the City of Westminster.  Chelsea, Kensington and Marylebone were separate towns outside the City's walls.

The City of London is not one of the 32 London boroughs, but is a separate entity even having its own Police Force. It has 25 Wards and each has its own Alderman and Common Councilmen, who along with the Lord Mayor, make up the Court of Common Council which governs The City of London Corporation from the Guildhall.
